Blood Mile

Website + Campaign

The Client

Andy Lyberopoulos, an inspiring author, approached Hubnest seeking a custom website for the debut launch of his book – The Blood Mile. His lifelong passion as a writer allowed him to write a book young children would appreciate.

The Project

Andy wanted a website design to be closely related to the story of The Blood Mile while also establishing his name as an author; the website needed to have a theme that would promote the book.

The concept Hubnest suggested was to use illustrations from the book in the web design process. The team on the project familiarized themselves with the story by reading the book.  After working with the content provided by The Blood Mile’s graphic artist, three different concept layouts were created for Andy.

The Result

Many development hours were spent planning the mobile and desktop interactivity. The results were breathtaking for Andy as we were able to create some striking effects and animations. We also developed a smooth online payment process with simplicity and user-experience in mind. We created two unique design concepts to choose from:

Concept 1

This concept was based on an idea of Sawyer (the chick) walking down the screen as the user continued to scroll down, learning more about the book. The approach would have created a vertical-scroll site with additional interactivity and effects as Sawyer reached certain sections and obstacles.

Concept 2

The second concept was a multi-page and horizontal scroll layout. Calls-to-action were scattered throughout the site to encourage book purchases and reading reviews.
